If you’re one of those people aching for espresso equipment to bring into your home so you can get your fix anytime while enjoying quality home time, then it’s time for you to start familiarizing yourself with the different types of home espresso machines available in the market. Brace yourself for a whole lot of assorted espresso coffee makers due to the wide range of popular coffee drinks such as espresso and cappuccino.
It’s not surprising to find out there are eight different kinds of espresso coffee maker models in Europe alone. Here, you will learn about some of models to give you an idea and help you decide on your best choice.
The stovetop espresso maker is widely popular in Italy, Portugal and Spain. Many coffee enthusiasts consider it to be the original espresso machine. These machines have three distinct chambers, each serving a unique purpose. Freshly ground coffee is placed in the top chamber, the middle chamber acts as a filter, and water is heated in the lower chamber. Steam from the heated water goes up the tube leading to the top of top chamber and permeates the coffee grounds. This produces the espresso.
The steam espresso maker actually functions similar to the stovetop model except that the internal workings are different. A less popular model in the espresso coffee machines line is the piston-drive operated by a steam. It’s more expensive compared to other models but it is this type of Italian espresso maker that first introduced cream to the espresso which has become a standard for many today.
There’s another line of coffee making machine available in the market today. These are the electric espresso maker models and they come in five different types: fully manual, semi-automatic, automatic, super-automatic, and fully automatic. Of the bunch, the fully automatic home espresso machines are the most popular because they can be connected to a water line and with a single push of button you can have your morning espresso in no time.

I recently bought a Breville for 0.00. The pump did not work well for steaming the milk and the espresso was never hot enough. I returned it after a month. I have attempted to buy a Starbucks Point on eBay and keep getting overbid. I want the real thing. Any advice/experience?
